Hazardous Hungry Caterpillar!

My sister in Oregon is also a quilter. She made Very Hungry Caterpillar Quilt for me to give to a friend. She stuffed it, a small book and stuffed caterpillar in a Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope.

It should have gotten here in 3 days.

A week later, it hadn't been delivered.

We looked at the online tracking information only to see that it disappeared soon after hitting the Oregon Post Office.

We called her post office, we called my post office, we called a few random customer service numbers, we emailed customer service. No one could offer us any explanation as to where it had gone.

Priority Mail is supposed to be trackable, but no one could track it. Go figure!

We gave up and she mailed me another quilt. This one included a long note on the outside of the package! (I wish I had taken a picture of it!)   It explained all about the previous disappearance and if there was anything anyone could do to find that quilt, we'd love them all to pieces!

I got the new quilt and my mail carrier and I discussed the mysterious disappearance of the original package.

3 days later, this appeared in my mailbox:

It was the original package!

Apparently, someone thought it was hazardous material! It had clearly been opened and repackaged!

Here's what they found inside:

I hoped they found it as funny as I did!
